Honda city.The DSI engine gives an incredible mileage of 21-22kms/ltr on highway.The seats are most comfortable and a delight to drive.Maintenance is negligible.

Best to just buy one in automatic. It would cost you $2000 to $5000 to convert one. It would only add about $800 to $1000 to the price of a new car or find a good one used that has been checked out by a mechanic.

I own a SX4 ZXi for the last one and a half years. I have to say that I am very very happy with the car in every respect. May be the only department where this one is little behind is the mileage. With 1200 kg weight and 205 mm broad tyres, what more one can expect?
I have friends owning Honda City and Ford Fiesta and I have driven them. In my opinion SX4 is a far superior car. The road clearance (19 cms) is the best in the class which is ideal for the Indian roads and the road holding at high speed is superb. It is a real pleasure driving this car.
