What is the fundamental difference between a blogger and an Internet marketer? Is there any difference at all to begin with?

Since I had nothing better to do today, I decided to take the risk of being flamed by hate mail by telling you exactly where the line is drawn. While these are examples from the extreme ends of the online publishing spectrum, I believe you'll see my point by the end of this article.

Nowadays, almost every Internet marketer I know has a blog. However, none of them like to be called a blogger. Most bloggers on the other hand think they're Internet marketers. Those poor misguided souls.

Here's what fundamentally different between a blogger and a real Internet marketer making a living online:

1) Living on Search Engine Traffic

The most obvious trait I've seen in a blogger is their over-reliance on search engine traffic. In fact, probably the only way they know of getting visitors to their blogs is by getting a "degree" in Google, and spending all their time trying to please Big-G.

Internet marketers on the other hand see search engine traffic as just one component of their entire marketing campaign. They have access to a wider range of tools such as articles, joint-ventures, pay-per-click advertising and email marketing to mention a few. They have the knowledge to use them and they do so regularly.

2) Lack Of Control Over Their Mailing List

Another common trait of a blogger is the dependence on RSS subscription services like Feedburner to build a database of potential customers. they're content with the fact that by doing this they will never be able to send messages to their loyal readers other than what they post on their blogs.

When you get to a blog maintained by an Internet marketer, instead of seeing a "Subscribe by Feedburner" form, you'll see a "special offer" or reason to optin, followed by a customized form using Aweber or a similar service. By doing this, the Internet market captures the full details of his visitors and is free to send them emails that were never intended to be published on their blogs.

The Internet marketer also analyzes his list to determine their interests, and provides more value based on this findings. He masters his list and knows that they're his most important asset; not the blog.

3) Reluctance on Promoting Affiliate Products

I've seen so many bloggers state "That's my affiliate link" right after they post it on their blogs. It's almost as if they're afraid of their readers finding out that they somehow benefit by putting that link up. They feel guilty making money from others with an affiliate link, so they clearly brand it as such.

The Internet marketer however has no issues with this. His job is to promote products he feels will benefit his market, and he is not afraid to get paid for it. In fact, the Internet marketer EXPECTS to get paid for his efforts, or he doesn't bother doing it at all.

4) Just Publishing Vs Real Marketing

Most blogger are publishers. They focus on getting content up, and then wait for people to come and chew it up. "Build it and they will come", says the blogger. You can't really blame them for taking that stand, because they lack marketing and advertising skills. They really have no other option.

Internet marketers on the other hand know that the marketing graveyard is filled with great ideas and excellent content that never saw the light of day. They know that they need to get out there and market themselves, their products and their overall brand in order to survive in the long term.

5) Limited Knowledge on Monetizing Traffic

Bloggers know of only one monetization method: advertising. The easiest is of course some sort of contextual advertising like Google Adsense or Chitika. Some even go for blog advertising networks and selling text links on their blog, but at the end of the day, they're still dependent of advertising dollars.

The Internet marketer has more tricks up his sleeve. He knows that advertising income is as stable as a melting glacier, and he diversifies his income by selling his own products or services on his blog. In fact, most of them don't even bother with contextual ads because they live much higher up the food-chain.

Let me just say that a true Internet marketer can make the same amount of money from 3 pages of his blog that the average blogger does with 300.

This article may disgust you (if you're a blogger) or may strike a chord in your inner melody (if you're an Internet marketer). Bloggers may say "Oh… but I get tons of traffic, I make money from Adsense and I'm doing fine. So what's the problem?"

The problem is that Internet marketing is a volatile business. By observing both type of individuals all I can say is that in the next few years, the blogger will still be blogging. But the blogs they write for will be owned by a savvy Internet marketer.

It's just the way it works!

The activity of blogging has enough potentiality to bring you recognition, work satisfaction and most importantly, substantial amount of income. All these factors are proved to be a great source of enticement for countless wannabe bloggers around the world. Though blogging portrays a rosy picture ahead, the path leading to that point is full of challenges and demands efforts of highest caliber from your side.

To the rescue of aspirant bloggers who seek to stamp their authority in this promising field, there are many winning or successful bloggers whom they can idolize and though not fully, but try to learn and put into practice some of their winning habits. Adhering to these habits will stand novices in good stead during the turbulent periods in the blogging sector.

Firstly, you need to communicate your ideas, opinions and views to a large reader base properly. Renowned bloggers handle this task effectively. Most of the times, youll find them sending hundreds of e-mails daily to let people know about their work and the result is there to see. Check their inbox and it is virtually flooded with responses. It is a habit that every blogger can do to perfection with the passage of time. Actually, necessity can bring the best in you.

Have you heard of social networking websites such as del.icio.us, Digg and StumbleUpon? If your response is no, then make a habit to visit those sites more often and befriend with many social media users. These esteemed users play a pivotal role in bringing a great deal of traffic for successful bloggers as they undertake a number of activities on their behalf ranging from submitting their posts to promoting them in different platforms. How many times do average or smalltime bloggers resort to these winning practices? Never, as they overlook the power of social media at their own peril.

Another winning habit of successful bloggers is that they are visionary and proactive and think one step ahead of others. After establishing themselves properly, they are soon on the lookout for other potential avenues to get their business diversify into. Sticking into one income source has its own pitfalls as you never know when that particular income stream gets cutoff due to some reasons or other. Having the cushion of multiple income sources can mitigate the severity of losses to a great extent and safely pull them out from troubled waters.

Winning bloggers spend most their valuable time in doing activities they are best at like developing new strategic ideas as well as post ideas and leave the remaining day-to-day tasks such as managing e-mails, moderating comments and other technical and administrative works to competent persons as a benefit of outsourcing. Focusing on core activities can bring success for your blogs as youll have fewer troubles to deal with.

Top bloggers sometimes relinquish control of blogging activities for a brief period of time in order to provide opportunity to other skilled writers who have some amazing blog ideas to arouse interest in their readers. During this period, they limit their roles to facilitator or moderator only by deciding upon what to publish and what to not.

Moving on, when you visit the blogs of popular bloggers, youll explore that equal attention is being provided not only to quality content, but also to the look and feel and design of blogs. Blogs with eye-catching layouts and designs can be a source of attraction for readers and greatly compliment their quality content. Initially, you can select one layout from mass number free blog themes on the Internet. But once your business grows, try to render a distinct and customized look to your blog that reflects your personality and blog ideas in an apt manner.

Last but not the least; successful bloggers know very well how to express their inability in responding to large number queries, requests and pitches. It is actually a necessity to say a polite no as it is impossible to respond to all questions. Conveying your inability in a proper way hardly results in the loss of a reader.

To enrich your knowledge on blogging as well as other intriguing topics such as CSS, Web Design, AJAX and Web Applications, you can visit the popular informative website http://www.css-faq.com/ that contains plenty of articles, news and videos.

Creating a blog is an exciting experience. When you first start blogging it feels fun and when you start getting traffic blogging feels really fun. A lot of people go into blogging expecting to be the next Wil Wheaton or Dooce or Perez Hilton. These same people often scrap their blogs for other projects within a month or two. Why is that? Technorati says that there are millions of blogs in the system and that thousands of new blogs are created every day. Why are so many of these blogs abandoned?

Patience is a Virtue!

For some reason people think that a blog will see overnight success. Guess whatit simply is not true! It takes quite a lot of time to build up a blog's following and gain some notoriety within the blogosphere. Even Heather Armstrong (the author of the popular Dooce blog) and Jason Kottke started out small. No blogger has ever been popular immediately. They have the fame they have now because they stuck with blogging and built an audience from scratch. It can take months or even years to build up an audience and when the attention isn't immediate, most bloggers will give up.

Thinking too Small

Today the single most popular piece of advice given to new bloggers is to "choose a niche." While it is certainly helpful for some bloggers to center their sites around a certain idea or notion, these same bloggers do not often take the time to figure out which niche best lends itself to blogging. The truth is that any niche can be blogged about as long as the blogger thinks broadly enough. Unfortunately most novice bloggers pigeonhole themselves from the beginning. Instead of focusing simply on marine biology, the blogger might focus solely on a single type of fish or location. Eventually it becomes difficult to think of blog posts and the blog naturally runs out of steam.

Are you easily bored?

When choosing a niche or a blogging subject, it is a good idea to choose something that you are passionate about. Most bloggers try to choose subjects (or niches) that are already popular or that could end up earning them money. The problem with this is that these markets are already oversaturated so the competition is worse. The other problem is that the blogger might not enjoy his/her subject matter and get bored with it quickly. Choose a subject that you can (or already do) talk about every day without tiring of it. Most bloggers choose based on numbers, not emotions.

All of these things can lead to the abandoning of a blog. The simple truth is that building a popular blog takes time focus and quite a lot of energy and effort. There is no way to simply coast into a very popular blog and the blogging fame that comes with it. Take your time and build slowly. You'll be better off in the long run!

Dear Friend,

Do you have enough readers on your blog ?

If your answer is "not enough," then my friend, this is going to be the most interesting post you will ever read.

Here's why,

As I had said in the title of this post, it is not about changing your headline, is not about changing your blog theme (even if it sucks 99%) and is not even changing your content and I bet is not anything you could even think of...

RIGHT NOW !

I can even go further to say, most probably big time bloggers like John Chow, Shoe Money, Darren Rowse, Alvin Phang and many, many more had not yet talk about on their blog.

So now, what's this simple change, I, The Bad Blogger had discovered that could increase the readership of any blog on the world wide web?

Simply this:

Change Your Fonts !

Before you even think I'm hyping you, listen to this:

It doesn't matter if you got 100,000 visitors coming to your blog per day, per hour or even per minute, if no one is reading your content, you are just wasting your traffic circulation.

Look: When was the last time you go to a blog? And what did you do there?

Basically, there are only two things you will do and is either you read the content on the homepage or you click off and go back to watch your boring Youtube video.

Now ask yourself, what's the problem that makes you click off the blog?

Most people will say, "Oh the content sucks."

But the fate is...

You Don't Feel Like Reading !

Believe it or not, whatever you do, the bottom line comes down to this...

Desire !

Whether you admit it or not, this is a fate you and me had to face.

Listen: People don't buy things with logic, they justify with logic and buy things with their desire.

And it goes the same to reading a content, people don't come to your blog with a logic mindset that he wants to read your content, they come to your blog with the desire to read...

What's In It For Them !

You see, if you could read till this line, it means you had the desire to know what's the best fonts that could increase your readership.

Okay, by now you should be excited that you had realize something new which, I believe no one had talk about it, or even think about it.

Now, I'm not sure the name of the fonts but I'm going to show you a picture of the best font I had found, that give readers a good impression and reading urge.

new

The above font are from Copyblogger, and it is by far the blog which had the best font, keeping readers with great desire of reading pleasure.

So, now, in order to know whether or not your fonts are good for your reader's desire to read, the best way to find out, is...

Ask Your Reader !

And how do you ask your reader?

Is simple, use polls !

Stay Frosty,

So many blogs on the internet and so many more start everyday. How can I start my own blog? What to do? How to get visitors? This kind of problems are very familiar for the people who start blogging. Let's look at the number one problem most bloggers face.

And that problem is keeping their blog current. Current meaning posted in on a regular basis. How many blogs have you seen that start out like gang busters and then have not been written in for several weeks or even several months.

Because people who visit your blog will not come back unless they like what they read you owe it to them to keep it current. At the very least that means a couple of new articles per week. Depending on the theme of your blog it could be more like several times per week. To get as much repeated traffic as possible you have to get on a schedule and stick to it.

If you are not sure how often to post look at what your competitors are doing. This is the model you should strive to achieve. If you are into blogging to make money your income as well as your reputation depends on keeping up with the competition. You just can not do that blogging on an inconsistent basis.

If you were to chart your blog posts and traffic then you would hope to see an arrow pointing up on a steady incline. You would hope to see a straight line across the page if you are just being consistent. If your graph looks like a roller coaster ride you need to find the time to correct that.

Many bloggers have full time jobs with family, kids and other things in their lives. This makes it hard to always be able to blog. You need to find time everyday to research, write, submit, and social bookmark your posts. Depending on your schedule you may want to make that the same time everyday.

Many bloggers do it first thing everyday before they get into their hectic schedule. Then if you do miss a day it will not affect you much because you already have so many posts made. And you will be able to get back on track tomorrow.

Understand that your blog posts do not have to be 1000 word masterpieces. Many times a well written informative article of 200 words is enough and can be done fairly quickly.

Another thing to look at is writing several posts in advance and then all you have to do is submit them. You may be allowed to schedule (depending on blog platform) when you want the posts to be made ahead of time. This is even better when you have a busy week and do not want to have to remember if you submitted your article that day.

I like writing ahead of schedule for bloggers who are writing a series or on one theme. You can sit down on a sunday and in a couple of hours knock out your whole week. Then set it up to publish when you want and you are done for the week.

How important is posting everyday or on a regular basis. Major blogs have guest bloggers when they are on vacation or unable to post. One idea is to actually have several of your readers write for you. Your readers will enjoy that and you can even run contests on who was the best guest blogger for the week.

When you do this make sure you have read some of your guest bloggers articles before you agree to let them write for you. It is still your blog and can reflect bad on you if you have poor quality material in your blog.

So there you have it. Keeping your blog current is the number one problem faced by bloggers today. Hopefully this article has convinced you to work a little harder and not falling into the trap of posting on an irregular basis.

Google Blogger is one of the easiest and most complete blogging solutions currently available on the Internet. Anyone can sign up and start blogging in a manner of minutes with the easy to navigate interface and tools it provides. But, there are a lot of things you probably don't know about Blogger, hidden within the more advanced features of the site. These clever add-ons make it easier and more fun to post to your blog each day and can give you a slight edge over your fellow bloggers in drawing new traffic. No Bandwidth or Storage Limits In a world where storage has become incredibly cheap and video super sites are the norm, it makes sense that Blogger would not instill any limits on your website for storage. In addition though, Blogger makes it so you can receive as much traffic as you are capable of generating. No matter how much content you post and how many visitors you draw,

Blogger remains free for the life of your blog and that's a great deal considering how many features are built in. Free Catch Support for Anti-Spam Spam is a major problem, especially for bloggers. If you talk to anyone who owns a private blog on their own server, or even those individuals with blogs on other services, you will learn that they constantly receive large quantities of spam. Blogger, by default, is built with spam detection and blocking device that can keep your blog from getting over run by unwanted spam comments. You can not only turn on the CAPTCHA software that requires a code to be entered whenever someone makes a comment; you can also require logins to Blogger to post comments or put commenting in a separate window so that spammers with automated software are tripped up. All of these options are available from Blogger's settings pages.

Blog by Email and SMS By far one of the coolest additions to blogging in recent years, Blogger allows you to post blog messages from a cell phone or email inbox. From the settings menu of Blogger, you can set a specialized email address that will post anything you email to it directly to your blog. This allows you to make blog posts from a smart phone or via a work or school computer on which Blogger might be locked. SMS features allow similar functionality, posting remotely to your blog. Post in HTML you can get very creative with your posts if you desire and post directly in HTML. Most people choose to use the built in text editor in Blogger, but what few people realize is that they can change almost any feature on the page by using the HTML editor. This allows you to use different colors, change font sizes, insert tables, or use a template for posts from a third party website. The possibilities are endless. Themes and Skins When you sign up for Blogger, you are asked to select the visual depiction of your blog using a specific template. However, you can change this template any time you want by installing a new one.

Located across dozens of websites are templates that allow you to change the color, number of columns, location of posts, and any number of visual features on your blog.

Do a quick search on Google for "Blogger Templates" and you will find hundreds waiting to be used. Google Tool Integration Google operates countless services for webmasters and that includes some of the most useful ones for bloggers. AdSense integrates directly into Blogger through a simple to select Blogger option in the Template menu. Simply click on "Add new page element" and choose AdSense and you can add your AdSense account to your page. Other great tools offered by Google include Analytics, which allows you to track the visitors to your website, including where they came from, what keywords they searched for, what pages they viewed, and dozens of other statistic. Webmaster Tools is another essential tool that Google operates that allows you to track how your blog appears in the search engines.
